Quaint Restaurant and a Speed Trap
We went out of our way to try the Grey Moss Inn in Helotes, Texas on the northwest fringe of San Antonio. It was well worth the drive.
Use your GPS because it’s a little bit off the beaten track.
The menu offers a surprisingly wide selection of interesting entrées and the wine list is more than just respectable. I found this surprising because, after all, this restaurant is located on a long and winding narrow road in Helotes, Texas.
The ambience is casual but refined. I thought the decor was an interesting blend of Texas Hill Country, French Château and rustic Unabomber hideout.
I enjoyed eating here and I suspect you will too.
Beware of the speed trap along that long, winding narrow road that runs in front of Grey Moss Inn. So notorious is the Helotes speed trap that your server is likely to warn you about it.
